The AI-based platform “flexOn” automatically controls companies' energy consumption.

The German startup encentive specializes in the development of AI-based solutions to optimize energy consumption in industry. By using their technology, companies can not only reduce costs, but also reduce their CO2 emissions. The company recently received an investment of 6.3 million euros to continue its expansion.
Encentive, founded in 2020, is all about “AI-based energy optimization for industry.” “With sales in the seven-figure range, we have already established ourselves as a relevant player in the market,” says encentive maker Nicolàs Juhl.
The multi-million dollar startup world is home to many up-and-coming (young) companies that deserve much more attention. These include Sunhat, Meet5, suena energy, Factor2 Energy, Futurail, and eNaDyne.

German software startup encentive has raised €6.3 million in a seed round led by global investor General Catalyst, alongside the company’s existing backers. With this round, encentive’s total capital raised has reached €9 million, as reported to Vestbee.

Saving energy is a good thing for everyone - but especially for industry and the Hamburg-based start-up wants to provide them with the necessary software for this.

In its latest Seed round, Hamburg-based software company encentive has raised €6.3 million in fresh capital with its AI-driven platform that reportedly helps industries cut energy costs by up to 20% and reduce CO2 emissions.
New funding will grow the AI and engineering team, enhance encentive’s industrial energy platform, and fuel international expansion.

High electricity prices and growing ESG requirements conceal major opportunities for logistics. Paradoxical? Not for Torge Lahrsen, co-founder and COO of energy management specialist encentive: “There is enormous potential in making energy flows more flexible and intelligently managing energy flows. ”

The energy revolution is forcing industrial companies to deal with fluctuating electricity prices and volatile feed-in from renewable sources. Instead of expanding expensive networks or power plants, the focus is shifting to the intelligent use of existing resources, in particular by making demand more flexible.
Using renewables: At the Industry Meets Renewables conference, these companies showed what concrete steps can look like in practice.

Many companies are suffering from increasingly extreme price fluctuations. But new ways of procuring electricity are now emerging — and turning the problem into a competitive advantage.
From warehouse to loading bay: Why electricity consumption in logistics requires more flexibility — and how artificial intelligence helps to exploit hidden savings potential.
Water and energy are resources that companies often still use wastefully. Experts at the Greentech Festival will explain how things can be done differently and how industrial processes can become more efficient.
A new business alliance promises industry automated control of electricity consumption based on price signals from intraday trading. Energy retailer FlexPower and industrial service provider encentive are combining their expertise to find the appropriate solution.

Many companies are having to reorganize their energy procurement. Fixed electricity tariffs are becoming less important because the price is determined by self-generated and purchased electricity. A flexible solution such as Encentive makes it possible to manage consumption in a targeted manner and react to market prices in order to minimize costs and exploit potential savings.

We talk to Torge about his career, challenges and successes in the start-up process and he tells us how realistic a balanced work-life balance is for him. Encentive's vision is to decarbonize industry using renewable energy by enabling industrial companies to manage energy efficiently with AI. In this episode, you can hear exactly how encentive implements this mission.
The Federal Network Agency's plans to reform industrial network charges have caused a great deal of uncertainty in the manufacturing sector. It is precisely the question of how to make electricity purchases more flexible that is driving many companies. energate spoke with Torge Lahrsen, CEO of the start-up encentive, which specializes in flexibilization, about the reform plans, the definition of network-serving behavior and ways to make industrial processes more flexible.
German industry can thrive while using flexible power consumption solutions to better integrate the ever-growing intermittent renewable generation fleet, experts told Montel this week.

13 companies have the chance to win an award at the Energy Efficiency Award (EEA) in 2024. The nominated companies are examples of innovative entrepreneurial action that successfully drives the energy revolution and climate protection forward.

Electricity prices, which have been rising for years, are weighing on industrial companies. It's good that there is high potential for savings — and clever energy management systems such as encentive.

The young company encentive has developed an energy management system that, according to its own statement, can increase the flexibility of industrial processes, thanks to data management, artificial intelligence and automation. This is important if companies want to increasingly supply themselves with fluctuating photovoltaic and wind power, or if they want to take advantage of low prices when many renewables feed into the power grid. The first references already exist.

encentive, a leading young company in the area of AI-based energy optimization for industry, has successfully raised funds totalling 2.7 million euros in its latest seed investment round. The round was led by Summiteer — the holding company of serial entrepreneur and e-mobility pioneer Sven Schulz, which has already invested in Enpal and neoom, among others.

The company from the login uses artificial intelligence to determine the right timing for the most cost-effective use of renewable energy. There has now been a funding letter of 183,000 euros for this
